Jay Harlan founded Jay's Painting Service from his base in Denver, building the company on the practical knowledge that comes from working across Colorado's varied housing stock and weather. From older brick homes in established neighborhoods to newer builds farther out, he learned early how semi-arid conditions, hot summers, cold winters, and sudden afternoon thunderstorms change the way paint performs and how surfaces must be prepped.
As an owner-operated business, Jay stays involved on every project, providing upfront quotes and clear timelines so homeowners know exactly what to expect. The team works Monday through Saturday from 7am to 5pm, focusing on careful surface preparation that holds up through Denver County winters and the intense sun that hits much of the state.
Jay's Painting Service now handles residential and light commercial work statewide, bringing the same standards from the Denver home base to jobs in Aurora, Lakewood, Centennial, and beyond.
I grew up in Denver County and started Jay's Painting Service after years working on homes across Colorado, where the semi-arid climate brings hot summers, cold winters, and frequent afternoon thunderstorms that demand careful surface prep and timing. From our base in Denver I learned how those conditions affect paint performance on everything from older stock to newer builds, and I built the business to serve customers statewide with the same practical approach.
